It’s a good time to live in Edinburgh and be into “organised fun that comes with a side of cocktails”, isn’t it? With the doors to madcap ballpit bar Ballie Ballerson now open, with an equally fun arrival, Boom Battle Bar, your Friday nights just got a little livelier.
Boom Battle Bar has opened a bevy of UK locations recently, and an Edinburgh branch was no exception. With axe throwing, shuffleboard, crazy golf and even more fun activities on the menu, the bar has opened a spot in the OMNi Centre in late September 2022, in which they offer a cornucopia of activities to liven up a night out.
The Edinburgh site has marked the group’s second venture into Scotland, after the Glasgow branch opened earlier this year. The abundant mix of activities, food and drinks is definitely up there and a creative way to spend a date night or a night out with the gang.
For the adventurous kind, starting the night off with some axe throwing while calling in your inner viking will get you in a victorious (yet sober) mood. Throwing axes is harder than it looks, so don’t be easily fooled and be prepared to listen to the experts as throwing it as hard as you can doesn’t work. Next, hop onto Crazier golf, where mini golf is taken to another immersive level. Guests can ride a bmx bike on the nine hole course, play foosball with their mate’s golf ball or have a go at charging the ball with a baseball bat.
Visitors can also have a go at AR darts and get into the competitive spirit. The augmented reality darts have a myriad of modes to choose from, so you can make it as challenging as you like. And for the shuffleboard enthusiasts out there, Boom Battle Bar claims to have the best boards out there made of Canadian Sugar Maple wood.
Found in the former home of the Filling Station and Frankie & Benny’s, Edinburgh’s Boom Battle Bar will also bring a menu fill of nachos, hot dogs, draught beers, and cocktails to put the finishing touches on your night. The bbq chicken wings are a must, if we say so ourselves!
As the newest addition to Edinburgh’s boozy adventure scene, Boom Battle Bar is set to be a hit amongst edinburgers.
