A brand new luxury hotel is coming to St James Quarter, taking over the spiralling brown building that is the Ribbon Building. This November, guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s trendy rooftop bar that offers 360 views over Edinburgh. W Edinburgh is part of W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s 31 brands, and is preparing to debut in Scotland.
W Edinburgh is set to become a luxury destination that offers slick design, eclectic gastronomy and a “socially driven spirit”. The hotel boasts 199 rooms and 45 suites, many with outdoor terraces spanning from the Ribbon Building to James Craig Walk and the Quarter House, offering a new take on the city.
The hotel’s top floors are the talk of the town so far, bringing some new wind to Edinburgh’s lively social scene. Guests can explore W Lounge, SUSHISAMBA restaurant, Joao’s Place cocktail bar and terrace and chef’s table and outdoor terrace, offering locals and visitors alike stunning 360-degree panoramic views of the Scottish capital. W Lounge offers Gaelic cuisine with a twist, and the modern rooftop W deck rewards guests with awe-inspiring vistas.
What is more, the hotel will become home to events and creative spaces, such as the world-class Sound Suite that empowers musicians, and podcasters, to take a stance and be heard.
Agnieszka Rog-Skrzyniarz, Vice President Luxury Brands, Europe, Marriott International said: “With an unrivalled wealth of culture and vibrant arts scene, Edinburgh matches W Hotels legacy of embracing local creativity and talent. This property is set to be a stand-out destination hotel unlike anything else in the city, igniting guest’s curiosity and attracting locals drawn to the unique energy of the W brand.”
“W Edinburgh does more than put you at the centre of Scotland’s historic and culturally rich capital city – it immerses you in the spirit of the festival capital of the world. We can’t wait to introduce our new, luxury offering to guests and locals alike as we open the hotel for bookings.”, said Ken Millar, General Manager, W Edinburgh.
