After the exciting opening of the Japanese brand UNIQLO last year, we have another Asian shop to look forward to on the capital’s Princes Street. Miniso is opening its doors in Edinburgh today (March 21), bringing cute lifestyle and household items that won’t break the bank to an in-person setting.
Miniso Edinburgh is open to the public from 12pm on Friday, March 21, spanning over 522 square meters. A queue has started to form from as early as 6:30am, with people bringing camping chairs to be one of the first in line. And as of 11:30am, the queue was all the way to Fredrick Street half an hour before opening.
Shoppers can expect a mix of colourful and collectable items, such as cuddly plush toys, licensed favourites like Hello Kitty and Friends, and Pokemon, as well as everyday essentials across beauty, homeware, tech, and snacks. And yes, you can find the TikTok-famous blind boxes, too!
Moreover, the first 400 customers who spend at least £5 will receive a special goody bag worth £25. There will also be a line-up of festivities on opening day, including a bagpiper to welcome shoppers.
Saad Usman, Chief Operating Officer at MINISO UK, said: “Scotland has been on our wishlist for a long time – we’ve had so many requests from Scottish fans asking us to bring MINISO here, so we’re thrilled to finally open our doors in Edinburgh. As a brand that champions joy and affordability, we can’t wait to introduce even more people to the world of MINISO. We can’t wait to share our world with our Scottish fans and add a little extra fun to their lives.”
MINISO Edinburgh is located at 88 Princes Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2ER, near Primark, and is open from March 21.
