Most of us have seen the stores of the Japanese brand UNIQLO while on our travels away from Scotland. Well, UNIQLO has officially opened in Scotland this April, bringing a brand new massive store to the heart of Edinburgh. This can only mean they are bringing those super warm down coats, too!
Located on Princes Street, the first UNIQLO Scottish store boasts a sales floor of approximately 1,430 sq meters across two storeys, which is pretty much the main shopping street in the Scottish capital which also connects with the newly-built shopping mall, St James Quarter. The brand has now announced the official date for the Edinburgh UNIQLO branch, which opened its doors on Thursday, April 25.
What is more, there are currently 17 UNIQLO stores in the UK The new Edinburgh shop will launch alongside a new store in London, One Oxford Street, in Spring 2024 and will follow the Covent Garden store that opened in April 2023, making the total number of the brand’s stores in the UK go up to 19.
One of the most recognised lines LifeWear known for innovation and quality will also be sold within the store for all genders, kids and babies.
Plus, there is UNIQLO’s second UK in-store cafe, selling Japanese goods like matcha drinks and sweet treats. Developed in partnership with Japanese tearoom, Katsute100, the space will offer customers Japanese-inspired refreshments on the first floor, overlooking Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle.

The brand is partnering with stars and local influential figures such as singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt, freelance music journalist Aisha Fatunmbi-Randall, Darcie Maher, Head Baker and Owner of Lannan Bakery and more to help promote the new opening.
