In the delightful coastal village of Gullane lies The Bonnie Badger: a place for lost souls to find comfort in the worldly culinary pleasures of fine dining, surrounded by the solace of nature. On Monday, September 26, The Bonnie Badger was crowned Scotland’s best restaurant with rooms at the prestigious AA Hospitality Awards.
The Bonnie Badger is situated in the heart of the village of Gullane and is owned by Michelin Star Chef Tom Kitchin and The Kitchin Group, a family-run business. The property is a welcoming countryside getaway spot with 12 en-suite bedrooms and one suite, as well as multiple dining locations.
Coming back after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the glittering awards ceremony at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London was hosted by Gabby Logan. The prestigious awards ceremony celebrated the UK’s top hotels, restaurants, and pubs, as well as the people behind them.
The AA Hospitality Awards consists of 15 categories, honouring the best hotels, restaurants, and spas across the UK, as well as while awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Chefs’ Chef Award celebrate individuals as well.
Commenting on The Bonnie Badger’s recognition, Chef Tom Kitchin said: “This prestigious award is one of the highest accolades of the hospitality industry. I am so proud of what we’ve achieved over the past four years since we opened, and even more so, I’m incredibly proud of the talent, hard work and passion of our entire team.”
“We feel very lucky to boast such an enviable location in the heart of East Lothian and we’ve worked hard to lead the way in hospitality, offering an exceptional experience to our guests – whether they are staying, dining, or visiting us at The Bonnie Badger. It’s a great honour to have the recognition from AA and rest assured, we will continue to evolve the experiences we offer our guests each and every day.”
It’s safe to say that we’re proud to know we have the best restaurant with rooms in Scotland right on our doorstep.
