After previous success with the concept, The Botanist is bringing back its beloved hanging pancake kebabs, especially for Pancake Day. Putting a sugary twist on the restaurant’s famous hanging kebabs, the pancake day special has relaunched already – and trust us when we say, you’ll need stretchy pants.
A sell-out success in previous years, the whopping Botanist hanging pancakes come in three different options – The All American, stacked with fried chicken and maple bacon and served with mini hash browns and sriracha mayo, The Rocky Road, with Biscoff and Oreo rocky road pieces, served with strawberries, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream, and The Chocolate Orange, with chocolate brownie chunks, orange brandy sauce and vanilla ice-cream.
Each one is served with a pot of sauce made specially to drizzle down the kebab, and those fancying a sweet, syrupy, alcoholic kick can ‘add a boozy boost’ with a shot of Licor 43 for just £2. The Botanist also have their usual unique selection of cocktails to wash down the batter goodness, from their strawberry and elderflower mojito to their lily pad sour, which combines bergamot citrus vodka, green melon liqueur, green chartreuse and apple juice.
The pancakes, cocktails, and interiors of each Botanist location are also truly stunning, adorned with botanicals (obvs), luxury décor, and amazingly crafted cuisine, making it one of the prettiest restaurants in Edinburgh – perfect for sharing on the ‘gram if that’s your thing.
Celebrating Shrove Tuesday at The Botanist could never be dull, especially with prices of the hanging pancakes ranging from £8.95 to £16.50 for an absolute feast, a small price to pay for an epic pancake day experience such as this. They can be enjoyed at The Botanist Edinburgh until 28th February.
