Hey, put your new shoes on! Paolo Nutini has just announced that he’ll be playing a huge headline show at Royal Highland Showgrounds on Thursday, August 31: his only Scottish performance in 2023.
The somewhat belated announcement follows the news that Lewis Capaldi had to cancel his planned gigs at the same venue in order to “adjust to the impact” of his Tourette’s syndrome diagnosis.
Nutini released his first album, These Streets, back in 2007, featuring belters like ‘New Shoes’, ‘Jenny, Don’t Be Hasty’ and ‘Last Request‘. While these remain some of his most popular songs, his fourth album Last Night In The Bittersweet topped the charts in the UK, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands just last year.
Following the release of his latest album, Paolo Nutini sold out five shows at OVO Hydro Glasgow last December. It was there that he broke the attendance record for a music act at the venue, when over 68,000 of his fans came to see him. The Paisley-born sensation has been all over the world this year, including various European festivals, but his show at Royal Highlands Showgrounds will be his only Scottish appearance.
Support comes from indie rock sensations The Big Moon and Irish rock band Inhaler.
Tickets will go live this coming Friday morning (July 28) at 10am, while anyone signed up to Paolo Nutini’s mailing list will have priority access to the 9am presale.
