Think plenty of beer pouring freely, the sun is hopefully out by The Shore and beer enthusiasts chatting away enjoying the good vibes. All that and more is coming to Leith between July 26 and 28, as Moonwake is hosting its beer festival for the second year, Lunarpalooza.
In the past, Moonwake Beer Co. has hosted a number of seasonal brewery markets at its brewery taproom in Leith, with 11 local traders joining them to help visitors support local businesses and enjoy Moonwake’s precision-brewed beer.
Moonwake Beer Co. is an independent microbrewery founded in 2021 that focuses on attention to detail and mindfulness. The meaning of the word moonwake is “the moon’s reflection on a body of water” which was chosen due to the location by the Water of Leith, and the value of water itself in the brewing process. The moon also is the ruler of emotions as it rules water on earth, as well as creativity in folklore, reflecting the creative journey of the flavours of beer.
The Lunarpalooza beer festival will have 24 taps pouring beer from around the UK and beyond. Local street food vendors Banh Mi Brothers, Fender Pizza will make all our pizza dreams come true and Kilted Donut will also be there to cheer up all the sweet tooth people with some yummy doughnuts.
This year, the microbrewery has introduced a stellar live music line-up, including Steve Mason performing on Friday, Kathryn Joseph and Pictish Trail on Saturday and Callum Easter on the Sunday.
Lunarpalooza goers can get tickets for just half the day or for the full day, with the entry costing a mere £5. The general tickets include entry for a session and a special glass, which guests can take home as a sentimental piece from the experience. Visitors can also upgrade to the Silver bundle, where they’ll receive a festival tote bag, or a Gold bundle including the festival tote bag as well as a t-shirt.
If this sounds like a bit of you, you can get tickets on Moonwake’s website.
