Leith Christmas Brewery Market hosted by Moonwake Beer Co. is bringing eight small local businesses to create a hop-py wee market. Small businesses joining forces can only result in world domination, so we’d better get on their good side.
Moonwake Beer Co. is hosting its fourth seasonal market at its brewery taproom in Leith on December 17 & 18, with seven other local traders joining them for you to peruse the stalls and enjoy their precision brewed beer. The market will run from 12pm until 5pm both days, and those wanting to stay behind for some more delicious beer can do so until 10pm on Saturday and 8pm on Sunday. Pizza Geeks will also be on hand to deliver any stone baked pizza goodness until the evening.
Moonwake Beer Co. is an independent microbrewery founded in 2021, brewing with precision and mindful intent on The Shore in Leith. The meaning of the word moonwake is ‘the moon’s reflection on a body of water’ which the brewery has adopted due to the waterfront location of Leith and the importance of water in the brewing process. The moon also speaks of emotions and creativity in folklore and many ancient cultures, reflecting the creative journey of the flavours of beer.
During the two day beer drinking and shopping extravaganza, visitors can get a new plant baby from Seb’s Urban Jungle, that will be at the market offering its best flora and vegetation. Seb’s Urban Jungle is a Leith based plant and coffee shop, with two branches on Easter Road and Leith Walk. It’s the perfect spot for a coffee and a brownie, admiring all the plants while trying to resist the urge to buy yet another one so your home doesn’t develop its own ecosystem.
To pair with the hot drinks, Tasty Buns Bakery will be there with doughnuts and cakes, and Argonaut Books will fulfill all your literary needs. And if you’d be into an Iron Brew scented candle (the misspelled fizzy drink for copyright reasons), The Edinburgh Candlemaker Co will have small batches of soy and coconut wax candles.
And for the art fix, Aliston Designs and Ink Mares will be there selling unique prints to help decorate your space. And to complete the seaside dream, the sea witch Timely Treasures is bringing their art and jewellery made entirely of seaglass.
Leith Christmas Brewery Market is not just for beer lovers, but is also a quaint celebration of local small businesses, as well as a testament to all that Leith has to offer.
