This week marked the much-anticipated Scottish Hospitality Awards 2023 ceremony, where the best of the best within the industry competed for the accolades. Footlights Bar & Grill in Edinburgh proved triumphant during the evening, walking away with the title of the ‘Best Sports Bar in Scotland’ this year.
What is more, it is the third time Footlights walked away with the award: the first time they were named the best sports bar is Scotland was in 2019, followed by its second time in 2022 and, once again, this week.
Other local spots that claimed their rightful places as well – Laird and Dog in Midlothian was named the best bar in Scotland, while The Scottish Owl Centre in Bathgate walked away with the national award for ‘Best Day Out’, and the King’s Theatre was crowned the best theatre.
The Scottish Hospitality Awards has celebrated its sixth year of celebrating the best of Scotland, recognising the exceptional achievements of local businesses throughout the country.

Since most of us will now flock to the bar to catch the latest games, the food menu does not disappoint either. Expect pub classics such as mac & cheese, fish and chips or steak and ale pie, as well as a selection of nachos and gourmet burgers. The Posh Cow burger comes with 6oz steak burger, topped with melted brie, bacon, cranberry sauce, caramelised onions, lettuce, mayo and tomatoes.
Plus, the loaded fries are also worth checking out, as well as the dessert menu with the homemade sticky toffee pudding.
