The festive season is upon us, and the twinkling lights of our Christmas trees will soon be warming our hearts and lighting up the dark streets. And this December, guests are invited to TheBonnie Badger in the coastal village of Gullane to start their countdown to Christmas with some lively festive events at the award-winning venue.
The highlight of the series of the festive events is the arrival of the Great British Bake-Off winner and baking aficionado, Peter Sawkins, who will host a special Festive Afternoon Tea on December 9. The indulgent experience will celebrate his second book, Peter’s Baking Party, where Sawkins will introduce some exciting and delicious recipes for guests to enjoy. The limited-edition afternoon tea is exclusively designed to inspire promising baking stars and bring to life the wonderous art of baking.
Visitors will join Peter in The Bonnie Badger’s Garden Room for a relaxed afternoon tea to celebrate his baking success and hear about the inspiration behind his new book as he shares stories, alongside helpful hints to inspire budding bakers of all ages. The afternoon tea will be served at 2.00pm and 4.30pm, offering afternoon tea lovers loose-leaf teas, infusions or coffee, as well as seasonal sweet and savoury treats.
The series of festive events will be firstly kicked off with a Christmas wreath-making workshop on December 1 at 7pm, led by a local florist from Secret Garden Florals with a ready-to-hang result at the end of the session. On December 7 at 6:30pm, those looking for some entertaining inspiration this festive season can attend a Creating Celebratory Cocktails masterclass with the team from local East Lothian gin brand Fidra.
December 18 at 3pm will see a Creating a Celebratory Centrepiece workshop, with Victoria from Secret Garden Florals will return to lend a helping hand to those in need of assistance to nail their Christmas dinner decorations. The final event, Festive Fizz Masterclass with L’art du Vin, will take place on December 21 at 6:30pm, with Richard Bouglet, Director at independent wine merchant, L’art du Vin. The masterclass will take guests on a journey through the classic, and not-so-classic, sparkling wine regions, including Champagne, along with some festive canapes served to pair with the drinks.
