Leave the real world and all of its troubles behind for a little while and let yourself be transported on a soothing journey. Enlightenment takes you through the seasons of the year in a multi-sensory experience, unfolding over 30 minutes through vibrant light projections and immersive melodies from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
This spiritually uplifting experience was created by Zurich-based art collective Projektil, and has already enchanted crowds in many other cities in the UK and beyond, attracting over 500,000 visitors in Europe alone.

Here in Edinburgh, Enlightenment is set to open its doors on January 31 at McEwan Hall, a gorgeous Victorian landmark with 15 hand-painted murals, designed in the late 1800s by Sir Rowand Anderson. The historic venue is the perfect backdrop for these spellbinding light projections and soundscapes, adding to the feeling that you’ve been transported to another world.

At its heart, the experience invites you to slow down and just take it all in as you unwind in this colourful, meditative setting. Vivaldi’s classical melodies are brought to life by the swirling patterns on the walls and ceilings, enhancing the restorative power of the music by giving it a new dimension.
Visitors are invited to find a comfortable spot to sit – on a chair or a squishy bean bag – and simply look up, deepening the immersion into this kaleidoscopic universe.

After you experience spring, summer, autumn, and winter, you’ll be taken a little further, into Samsara and Nirvana, exploring ideas of rebirth and enlightenment before you are gently released back into reality.
The experience will leave you feeling recharged and inspired, with a renewed sense of wonder and perhaps a new penchant for violin concerti.

Whether you’re attending with friends or family, you can look forward to being lulled to relaxation by a unique blend of music and art. Tickets for Enlightenment Edinburgh are now on sale, and you can look forward to the experience opening its doors at McEwan Hall on January 31, 2026.
