Praise the weather gods! It looks like the warmer months are already in sight, when sunny days at the beer garden are not just a mere Summer memory anymore. So, a slight heatwave is coming to Edinburgh this week, with BBC Weather forecast showing temperatures going up to 21 degrees on Saturday, May 27.
We have been truly spoilt with some well-anticipated sun during the Spring bank holiday weekend, with this week looking a tad more bleak, colder and rainy before the temperatures go back up again.
However, according to The Met Office, the temperatures should remain steady from Wednesday, May 24 and stay at up to 18 degrees throughout the week, with lows of 10 degrees in the morning.
BBC Weather confirms that Saturday (May 27) promises glorious sunshine with a gentle breeze and up to a whopping 21 degrees.
Wednesday and Thursday are also expected to be pleasant this week with sunny intervals and 18 degrees on May 24 and 19 degrees on May 25. After the weekend is over, the temperature will remain around 20 degrees for the rest of next week. Yay for us!

However, there could be some thicker cloud in western and northwestern parts with outbreaks of light rain in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Winds are expected to be generally light, though perhaps moderate in the far northwest at times. Temperatures should be above average for most, but with some colder nights in the north.”
“The north likely to see drier weather. Temperature are expected be above normal for most, although cooler near windward coasts.”
It looks like while the days are going to be nice and warm, people are still advised to layer up for the colder nights.
