With 14 February right around the corner, Candlelight is bringing some of the most romantic love songs ever written about the much-desired feeling, thanks to the Candlelight Valentine’s Day special. The popular series has charmed Edinburgh’s most gorgeous venues for years now, but this February, it has something different planned to help you set the mood on the most romantic day of the year.
Perhaps you’re looking for the perfect first date, maybe you want to rediscover the first song you danced to. From “Moon River” to “My Heart Will Go On”, these timeless songs and compositions strike a chord with listeners because they encapsulate what it feels like to be in love. This Valentine’s, you can see them come to life by a gifted string quartet at the historic St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral. The church’s sanctuary will be completely transformed by the twinkling lights of thousands of candles that add a touch of magic to the romantic atmosphere.

The Candlelight Valentine’s Day special resolves all your V-Day dilemmas. Taking place at St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, it’s reimagining beautiful songs and compositions that will make you daydream, to mark the occasion.
Transport yourself to a slow walk through a moonlit garden as you hear the melancholic melodies of “Claire de Lune” by Claude Debussy. Reminisce about Rose and Jack’s everlasting love as you listen to “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic. The Valentine’s Day special takes place at St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral. There are two performances on the evening, at 19:15 and 21:30. Each concert lasts 60 minutes and doors open 45 minutes prior to the start of the show.
