Beer lovers, rejoice! Scotland’s only beer palace is in Edinburgh, and it boasts 12 copper tanks. Brewhemia not only offers an experience identical to what beer lovers would get in a brewery, but also cracking Alpine dining, live music, events and plenty of fun to go around.
Located on Market Street in the heart of Edinburgh, Brewhemia is a destination for anyone and everyone. From boozy brunches to late-night events and a dog-friendly policy, locals and visitors alike can enjoy themselves no matter the time of day or year.
What is more, the spot just updated its food menu, offering Scottish scran with a German twist. Secret Edinburgh got the chance to try it out for ourselves, opting for the Sunday menu.
We started off proper Scottish with Rabbie’s Croquettes with haggis, neeps and tatties croquettes, topped with peppercorn sauce and whisky crème fraîche. Move over, cheese and ham croquettes, Scotland does it better!
For the main event, you can tell a lot about a place by its Sunday Roast. So, it was only fitting we tried the Sunday Roast with Roast Scottish Sirloin, roast potatoes, maple glazed root veg, seasonal greens, Yorkshire pud and lashings of gravy. The delicate meat melts in the mouth with the slightly crispy Yorkshire pud, wholesomely tied together with the gravy. It was, officially, one of the best Sunday Roasts while eating out in Edinburgh.
What is more, guests can opt for a Scottish Sirloin steak cooked on a giant lava stone, served with seasonal greens, haus fries and whisky or peppercorn sauce. Not only did it make us the centre of attention as the sizzling goodness on a huge rock emerged, but also tasted just as good as it sounds.
When it comes to the beer, Brewhemia outshines the rest. The spot ships tankers straight from Czechia, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy the freshest beer possible. Beer lovers can choose from Staropramen, Budvar, Stewarts craft beer and Innis & Gunn lager from the copper tanks, as well as a large selection of beer on tap.
