You may think, what makes a great city for single people? While plenty of places to go on first (or whichever number) dates could make for a dateable city for single people, the amount of people willing to date is another question. Well, Edinburgh has plenty of both, and it appears that our Edinburghers are ready to date. New research by TopRatedCasinos has revealed the top UK locations for dating and looked at the search volume for dating apps across the cities to reveal the singleton hotspots.
Edinburgh and Aberdeen ranked at the best cities for dating in the UK, surely putting Scotland at the top of the list. This particular list looked at things to do during dates, such as restaurants, coffee shops, museums and the city’s safety.
Edinburgh is known for its flourishing culture, so it’s no surprise that it offers the greatest number of coffee shops (48) and museums (20) per 100,000 people. It’s also the safest city in the UK, receiving a high safety score of 69 and offers plenty of food & drink tours (six). Glasgow came tenth in this one, but we’ll still take it.
Glasgow ranked the first for monthly searches for total monthly searches for dating apps, with a whopping 38,070 Google searches, making it a 6,220 total search volume per 100,000 people. Scotland’s capital Edinburgh took the eighth place for this, with 24,560 Google searches and 5,032 search volume per 100,000 people.
Leeds came second, Newcastle took the third place, Liverpool came fourth and another Scottish city Aberdeen took the fifth place. I think it’s safe to say that there seems to be plenty of Scottish people keen to date!
However, the worst city to date in the UK was London, thanks to high costs, a poor safety score (46), and a surprisingly small number of activities available when considering its huge population.
Oh well, at least it’s great to be a single person in Scotland nowadays, and that’s what matters!
